The Pipkin Conference Center is a full-featured conference center/dining facility. It has a covered drive through portico/entrance and wrap -around porches with Adirondack-style rocking chairs and plenty of covered space for outdoor activities.
The kitchen is equipped with a large commercial four-burner electric stove/oven/flattop, large-capacity ice machine, two commercial refrigerators, two large and two medium stainless steel preparation tables, microwave oven, two commercial sinks (a three-compartment and a two-compartment), washer/dryer, separate restroom, and a wire baker's rack (temporary storage). The kitchen foyer is perfect for a serving or staging area for larger functions. The kitchen also has a covered loading/unloading area providing easy access to the storage areas.
Currently, we do not schedule multiple or overlapping events in the center so that each user has sole use of the center for their particular rental.
Located inside the Pipkin Center, Harvey Hall has a seating capacity of about 400 (at round tables; eight per table). It is an ideal setting for large gatherings.
The hall can be subdivided by a floor-to-ceiling room divider that separates the room into roughly one-third and two-thirds. The smaller third of Harvey Hall is connected to the kitchen foyer.
Also located within the Pipkin Center, the Nell Greene Conference Room is a smaller dining/meeting room that seats 60-80 people. It also connects to the kitchen foyer, as well as a separate external entrance.
The Vernard Robertson Tabernacle is an open-air worship facility that seats 900 people. The tabernacle was dedicated on May 17, 1973, to the glory of God and the deepening of spiritual faith in honor of District Superintendent Vernard Robertson (1966 - 1973). It includes an elevated choir loft, ceiling fans, and lights for evening services.
Resurrection Chapel formerly served as Cecil United Methodist Church in Cecil, Georgia, and was moved to Camp Tygart by the South Georgia Walk to Emmaus community in 1989.
Resurrection Chapel has 16 wooden pews (seating approximately 96 people). There is a three-sided padded communion rail around the altar. The chapel is heated/air-conditioned.
Each of our six heated/air-conditioned cabins have twin-size bunk beds, restrooms, sinks, and shower facilities. Some are equipped with a separate counselor/special-needs room. All cabins can accommodate up to 20 people.
The Lakeland 3-Bedroom Guest House sleeps up to eight people and is equipped with a dining space and two bathrooms. It is convenient to all other camp amenities.
This two-bedroom cabin features a living room and kitchen.
The Prayer Chapel is a very intimate worship space. There is a small kneeling altar and one pew on each side of the room.
The pool pavilion is an ideal place to hold smaller gatherings under a sheltered picnic area. There is an adjacent playground and restroom facilities with showers. The pavilion includes picnic tables.
A signed pool liability release form is required prior to being granted access to the pool.
The Ben Tygart Hall seats 100 people and includes a full kitchen with gas stove, oven, and flat-top grill.
Our four RV hook-ups include water, electrical, and sewer connections. Depending on the length of your RV, you may be able to pull-through; however plan on backing in. If you have additional questions, please call us.
Camp Tygar's newest addition is our 10-site primitive camping area. Sites range in size to accommodate from one to multiple tents. All sites are the same price and are directly adjacent to restroom and shower facilities.
